Snail Obsession

I am not sure if it is early signs on insanity but I have been exploring the technique of timelapse photography. My chosen subject for this turned out to be snails. I think the first one I found was hibernating as it didn't have much energy and didn't seem to do much.
Here is the video anyway.

After another good look around several gardens I found three snails in an old bird box that seemed to do a lot more than snail mk I.
I set up my camera, started shooting and the snail came out of its shell and rushed off around my set.

I have big plans for these snails, maybe making a feature length film about snails. Ill keep you posted with any further videos of the little critters.

Assisting Steve Gullick

Recently I have been assisting Steve Gullick, a legendary music photographer
who has lived the life of a rock star, he has met and photographed all the best bands.
Check out his work: Steve Gullick

The first shoot I assisted on was in Shoreditch with a French band called The Do, a really nice couple who are looking to get into the British charts after getting a number one album in France. Afterwards we went to Vice Mag HQ for a meeting which was interesting.

Second shoot was with The Cribs who were recording a track in the famous studio 2 of Abbey road studios where The Beatles recorded most of their songs.
There is a photo of studio 2 below, was a bit of a surreal experience.

The next shoot was shot pretty close to where I live with a band called Pulled Apart By Horses. This actually took 2 days because the weather was so bad on the first day but the next day was glorious sunshine and it all worked out perfectly.

Bit of a change for this one, it wasn't a band but an actor who wanted some shots for his portfolio. The shoot took place at the RAG Factory just off Brick Lane where we had our degree show, was a little bit strange going back there again but it was a great shoot.

The last shoot I assisted on was with a band called All the Young at Hoxton Studios. The studios were amazing even tho we only spent 2 hours in there, the rest of the day was spend on location as it was such nice weather.
The band looked good but I would hope so with the amount of time they spent in make up and amount of times their stylist made them change clothes.

Hopefully more assisting will come in the future as I have picked up so much and it is very beneficial.

Paris

It has been a while since I last updated, didn't realize a blog doesn't update automatically and the next thing I know It has been 3 months since my first post. Oh well, I now promise to update at least once a month.
Things have been up and down recently, the busy days have been hectic and the quiet days have been slow. It feels like a long time ago I went to Paris but here are some shots I took whilst trekking around the suburbs looking for the car impound.

Summer is coming to an end

Well as the post uni blues are clearing, summer is coming to an end and the bank has stopped funding my habits I think it is about time I started my journey into the world of freelance photography.
I look forward to all the exciting challenges ahead and can't wait to see where this fabulous medium will take me in life. I received my first commission last week which will see me traveling up and down the whole country (including Scotland) photographing fancy locker rooms at golf clubs, gyms, spas, football clubs and hotels. I feel up to the task (although I don't feel that my car is) and it is also a great way to see the country.
Ill upload some shots when I return, In the mean time enjoy these images that I think perfectly reflect my 2011 summer.
